Drawing IndexA drawing index is another name for a drawing register or master drawing register. It lists all associated drawings on a project. The QDMS drawing collaboration system maintains a drawing index and allows users to view, revise and review drawings, as well as generate transmittals. QDMS provides an effective document control tool for LAN based systems ensures secure access to the drawing index. Because all drawings are located in one master drawing index, users save time when filing searching for and retrieving drawings. A drawing index also reduces space and prevents file duplication from drawings being located in two or more separate locations. The simplicity and efficiency of a drawing index allows users to select documents for transmittal and print or email them for further distribution. Documents can also be scanned and linked to the drawing index. All documents that are registered into a drawing index are automatically filed into a drawing history once they are superseded. A Drawing index is a list of Drawings on a project. It is also commonly referred to as a Drawing Register or a Master Drawing Register.
